Arvada Rifle & Pistol Club
Indoor Rimfire Bench Rest Fun Shoots
These shoots are held on the Arvada Rifle & Pistol Club’s 25-meter range and will be contested at 25 meters. AR&PC now has movable, but substantial, rifle shooting benches for right-handed and left-handed shooters. We will use USBR 50-yard rimfire BR targets. We allow 5 minutes final set-up time and 25 minutes to shoot unlimited sighting shots on the three sighting bulls and one shot on each of the 25 “record” bulls.
We plan to start shooting a relay every 40 minutes or so. Scoring will be off the line. This is a fun match; entry fees will be $10.00 per shooter for one or two relays for AR&PC members, $15.00 for the first one or two relays for non-members. Re-entries will be allowed after everyone that comes gets a chance to shoot once. All re-entry targets after the first two will be $5.00. There will be no awards.
More rules or changes to the rules will be made up by the match directors when they feel it necessary. The match director is Doug Maxwell. We plan to start preparation for the first relay at 1 pm and one of us should be at the club and on the range by 12:30.
If you have questions, contact Doug Maxwell: email dkmaxwell3@gmail.com cell phone: (303) 907-1667.

10 Meter Air Pistol League
The Arvada Rifle and Pistol Club will offer a 10 meter Air Pistol League to members and non-members.
Details: Start Date: April 7 . 10 best score for each shooter will be used for ranking and classification. In general, we will shoot on the same nights as the Air Pistol Silhouette League, with the exception: Silhouette league does not shoot on the third Monday of the month. 10 Meter will shoot every Monday.
Rules: NRA 10M Air Pistol rules will be used (mostly). This will NOT be a sanctioned league at this time. Open sights only fired off hand, with one hand. (Like NRA Precision Pistol). In an effort to generate more interest, shooters may use any sight and will be allowed to shoot with two hands. Those shooters who chose to shoot with two hands and/or with other than iron sights will not compete with the conventional shooters.
Times: Start at 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Shooters have 45 minutes to shoot 60 shots, 10 shots on 6 targets for score, 15 minutes sight in period prior to scoring targets (1hour total). Shooters must finish before 5:30. Shooters can start at any time when a station is available. Shooters will need to complete an orientation course before shooting on the electronic range.
Shooters will need to register in order to update badges to gain access to the electronic range. Time and date of orientation TBD. Shooters who are new to the electronic range will need to arrange an orientation session with Chad or Jennifer Meyer cahdandfuffer@yahoo.com. You will be given a shooter number and you will be allowed access to the electronic air range.
Fees: Members $40.00, non-members $60.00.
Questions may be addressed to Jack Fox jack.fox@comcast.net, Greg Fehr maddiggergf@comcast.net

Provided it meets the .177 caliber and power limits. • One and two piece front or rear adjustable rests and bi-pods are allowed. • Scopes may utilize illumination. • Tethered tanks are allowed. • The target will be the international target format. Scoring will be done by WRABF international rules. • We will shoot 3 targets for a competition. • You will have 20 minutes per target for unlimited sighters and 25 record shots. • 1 shot per bull • Two hits on a single bull will score a zero • Pellets that touch the bullseye are scored as a 10 and pellets that “obliterate” the bullseye are scored as a “X”. A single target perfect score would be 250-25X. • Target distance will be 20 yards for low velocity rifles, 25 yards for high velocity rifles. • Scoring will be done by experienced scorers and no shooter shall score their own targets. Scoring is to be done by using an approved .22 caliber (.224”) gauge/plug. • With the limited number of benches available we will run several relays (dependent of registered participants) a competitor will be given a “relay number” that they will shoot in. You must register with the match director to participate; you will be notified by email what relay you will be shooting in. • Match Director Mike McAvoy mmcavoy6@comcast.net Are you new to Benchrest? Introduction to Air Rifle Benchrest at ARPC What do I need to play? ● First of all, an air rifle. In order to compete, you need a .177 caliber air rifle. It can either be a spring type, or the newer PCP style. If it’s a PCP style, it will have to be able to fire a minimum of 25 consecutive rounds without the need to fill. In order to prevent damage to our backstop we are restricting rifles to a maximum power of 1100 feet per second as set by the manufacture. ● Your favorite ammo. You will be shooting at least 75 rounds in the competition portion. Practice shots are relatively unlimited in number. It is recommended you get domed pellets the wad cutter type tend to tumble at distances over 10m. ● A mounted scope is highly recommended. It is not required to shoot, however it will be nearly impossible to see the bull without one. Minimum suggested power recommendations are 20x + to get a good visual. Shooters have been known to shoot with 12x. ● You will need safety glasses, and they must be kept on at all times. ● Hearing protection is highly recommended. Some air rifles can get loud. ● You must be 18 years old to shoot without parental supervision present. We certainly encourage children to be a part of the fun! ● A Benchrest, or sandbag of some type. We have a few available to get you started. Bipods are allowed during competition. Be aware that your benchrest must NOT clamp your gun into it. It can only rest on it. ● Targets: We will provide the targets you will use for the competition. ● Air: We have spare air available to fill your PCP. So no need to bring your hand pump. The goal is to encourage the development of the sport, and not to discourage, intimidate, or scare away new or potential participants. When you show up for the first time you can expect to be paired with an experienced member, who will show you the ropes, and guide you. We strongly encourage participation with the younger generation. Bring your kids!
